IDH’s Guardian™ Promotion for Wholesalers
Click here to download the Summer edition of the IDH newsletter. Irish Driver-Harris Co. Ltd (IDH) is pleased to announce a new promotion of our Guardian™ Cable. For a limited time only, wholesalers can receive a promotional reel of Guardian™ cable. The reel will be mounted on a stand and comes with a preparation tool as well as information leaflets for end users to learn more about this unique product.
Why choose Guardian™?
Guardian™ has been designed for, and is approved to meet, the requirements of the 17th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations (concealed cable regulation 522.6). IDH were the first company to achieve the coveted BASEC approval for this product. IDH manufactures Guardian™ from 1.0 to 6.0mm in 2,3 and 4 core constructions up to 600/1000V.
Although several other companies now manufacture cables of this type, IDH is still the only company with BASEC approval across this range and to the higher standard. Guardian™ is fully approved with BASEC to BS8436 and IS273.
Guardian™ offers reduced installation time, fail-safe nail penetration, impact resistance, and EMC protection. It is made from low smoke halogen free materials. Unlike ordinary duty PVC cables it is resistant to expanded polystyrene making it suitable for use in contact with thermal and sound insulations without the need for extra protection.
WHY CHOOSE AN APPROVED CABLE?
By installing a BASEC approved cable you are choosing peace of mind and a cable that has been rigorously tested through a rigid approval process – a cable that will deliver, without question, each and every time.
Over recent months there has been an increasing awareness of the amount of poor quality electrical cable available in the market place. These cheap sub-standard products pose a very serious problem. It has been estimated that as much as 20 percent of all cable in the UK market is either non-approved or counterfeit. This cable could potentially be a serious fire hazard. According to reports, up to 27 percent of electrical fires have been the result of sub-standard faulty cables.
The UK and European standards for cables have been designed to ensure that cables which comply to these standards are safe for use, when used as intended and in compliance with wiring regulations.
IDH would like to encourage stockists to be aware of the fact that they could potentially be stocking and supplying non-approved or counterfeit cables to the market place. For peace of mind, IDH asks all stockists to ensure that the manufacturer’s name and a recognised third party approval such as BASEC is clearly marked on all their cable stock.
Irish Driver-Harris has been manufacturing quality approved electric cables for over 75 years. Over recent years, IDH has been increasingly specialising in Low Smoke Zero Halogen cables. IDH has had BASEC approval on its LSZH range of cables longer than any other current cable manufacturer.
